Mekong & Saigon by Night

Today we traveled to My Tho on the Mekong Delta and explored the Mekong tributaries by fishing boat. Before we left Saigon in the morning our guide, Don, took us to the park where the men come to show off their caged songbirds, one of which caught our eyes with its bright orange colours.
The boat trip was pleasant without being spectacular. Lins saw and photographed the only bird of note – a collared kingfisher.
At night we had dinner high up the tallest building in Vietnam – iCon 68. Special night views of a colourful city. We then strolled around the streets and square leading to Ho Chi Minh’s statue and the People’s Commitee Building.
We were very impressed with what we saw and experienced in Saigon.
