Today was our first full day in Cambodia, and was quite a shock after the (relative) affluence of Saigon! It is a much poorer country devistated by the Pol Pot years. However there are over 10,000 new hotel rooms in Siem Reap in the last few years as the tourists swarm in to see Angkor Wat and surrounds.

The pictures today are from our day in Angkor Thom which is a huge complex of ruins which housed in its heyday a population of over 1 million people about 1000 years ago. More to follow!!! And Angkor Wat at sunrise tomorrow!
