It was a 5am start for sunrise at Angkor Wat on Lins’ birthday, and it turned our to be a brilliant morning. Our guide was excellent at showing us the best photo positions for sun and water. The temple turned out to be even better than our expectations as a stunning visual experiece.

Some photos are attached. In the afternoon we went to Banteay Srei, about 32km from Siem Reap, where we saw a Hindu temple dating from 967 contained the finest carvings seen anywhere. They will be on the next blog.
