With our tour with Odyssey finished on 22/4, we went on an expedition to the Prek Toal bird sanctuary which was accessed via a boat on the Tonle Sap lake which is the biggest lake in SE Asia. As it was the end of the dry season there was very little water in the lake and our shallow-drafted boat got stuck on a number of occaissions.

On the way across the lake we passed many floating village…we were told that there were about 200,000 people living in floating houses making a living from fish harvesting. The photos here give a flavour of what we saw. A separate posting will show a few of the birds that we saw at Prek Toal.
