Halong Bay 12-4-16

A 3 hour + car journey took us to the World Heritage site of Halong Bay. Here we boarded a boat which had overnight cabins, and set off to cruise around the bay and between a lot of the 2000 limestone and dolomite outcrops, some of which towered over the boat reaching over 700 feet above the water. Unfortunately on both days it was misty with no sign of the sun and this spoied the spectacle somewhat.
The only time we got off the boat was to be taken through the rather spectacular Hang Sun cave system, The lighting inside was rather spectacular as the below photos show.
The overnight excursion was followed by anothr 3 hour + drive to Hanoi airport where we boarded a plane to go to Hue.
