A little late but here is first of several postings of some birds photographed on our recent North American trip. The ones here were found on Vancouver Island, mostly around Parksville with a few at Mt Washington and Nanaimo. They were taken during our visit in the first week of August (2016).

Our knowledgeable guide for some of the Parksville stay was Christopher Stephens. He is seen below with grey jays feeding out of his hand at Mt Washington.
