Still suffering from sunless sky when we arrived at Chengdu in Sichuan Province. However a morning at the Panda Research Base was charming and as a bonus we were able to get some good pics of birds including the Red-beaked Leiothrix. Rest of the day was spent wandering around the Wenshu Temple area including having tea at the teahouse in the temple gardens.

We then flew to Xian were at last we had a sunny afternoon, cycling 10 miles around the parapets of the Ancient City Walls with Xian guide, Nancy.
