Tuesday saw us wake to beautiful clear blue skies for our expedition to Tian’anmen Square (where we were mercifully spared to viewing of Mao’s body!) and then the Forbidden City which was spectacular.

A strange tour around the Hutong streets near the Beijing Bell and Drum Towers was followed by a delicious meal of Peking duck!
