Well, we’re now in Arusha in northern Tanzania, safe and sound, and have had first encounter with giraffes, zebras and elephants as well as flocks of lesser flamingos in Arusha National Park.

We are about to drive to the Serengeti National Park where we will stay for two nights…it’s a seven hour drive from here across the Great Rift valley.

First local bird here is the rather beautiful lovebird, a kind of parrot, near our B&B in outskirts of Arusha. More to come when we settle in at Serengeti digs.
