After 4 days in the mountains, we spent the last day by going on a guided birding trip with Rainforest Adventures in their1200 acre property next to the Braulio Carrillo National Park to the east if San Jose. Fortunately the weather was kind – hardly any rain, and a bit of sun in the morning.

Our birding guide was Danny – he really knew his stuff and was an interesting companion to discuss lots of aspects of Costa Rica as well as the birds. However the birds we saw there were some of the most spectacular we have seen anywhere. A few are here on the blog….put there in a hurry as we will soon be boarding the Air NZ flight back home from LA.
