Our time in Ecuador started with a wander through the Old Town (Centro Historico)….needed a little time to acclimatise to the nearly 3000m altitude, and then went on the cable car(TeleferiQo) to the top of the adjacent mountain (more than 4000m) to get a wonderful view of the city and nearby mountains.

Thereafter it was about 8 days of wonderful birding with our guide Miguel around the lodges of the San Jorge Birding Circuit, before setting off for the Galapagos and then back to San Francisco. These will be subject of further posts now that I have finally been able to get reliable internet!! First though are some pics of old Quito town.
