Ecuador has a wonderful range of tanagers, a high proportion of which display beautiful colours. They are generally easily lured by providing bananas which they can’t seem to resist (“tanager feeding stations”)! Each of the places we visited had several tanagers which quickly became prime photo targets. Below are a selection from a large number of pics taken at locations between 3,000 and 13,000 felt elevation. Fortunately they are a little less difficult to identify than the hummingbirds.
Hopefully the remainder of pics will be posted soon, once the ID process has run its course!
