Two stays on the US west coast bracketed our recent trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. We initially spent some time near Portland, OR – playing viols at Pacific University at Forest Grove, where we twice visited the nearby Tualatin NWR (TL). After out Ecuador trip we returned to San Francisco where we stayed with our birding (and music) friend Leni at Palo Alto for four days. Leni took us to a great array of birding sties including Oyster Point (OP), Alviso NWR (AV), Baylands Nature Preserve and Palo Alto Duck Pond (BL), Stanford University (SU), Moss Landing (ML), and Ano Nuevo State Park (AN).
Some of the many birds we saw are presented below. I apologise for taking so long to get these up on the site!!
