Last week we were able to visit the Western Treatment Plant (Melbourne’s main sewerage treatment facility) for the first time in many months. The day was superb with brilliant blue sky and not a breath of wind. Water levels in the various ponds were high, but lack of shore birds was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless there were some nice photos that resulted from the trip. The terns in particular put on quite a show as they chased the flies amongst the reeds.
