Birding in Malaysia, October 2022 – 2. Fraser’s Hill

Our first post-CoVid overseas journey was our October 10 day trip to Malaysia, where we went with guides Lee and Liew both from Endemic Guides Malaysia to a number of birding hot spots. These included Ulu Langat Lowland Forest and Kuala Selangor Mangrove Forest, Fraser’s Hill Montane Rainforest, Air Hitam Dalam Forest around Taiping, Merapoh and Sungai Relau National Park and Bukit Tinggi Sub-montane forest.
The birds we saw and photographed were in general wonderfully coloured – however getting clear pictures through forest foliage with sometimes very dim lighting conditions was certainly a challenge.

This is the second of 4 posts, featuring birds at the very popular location of Fraser’s Hill – must have been an Englishman’s joke, as this certainly qualified to be called Mount Fraser!! Featured image above is a Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker.
